Lectra hosted a roundtable event in London, bringing together fashion brands, retailers and universities to discuss the complexities of organisational change and to reveal the strategies needed to successfully manage change.
Chaired by Eric Musgrave, editorial director of Drapers, the dialogue centred on the constant and unique challenge of creating quality and newness in an ever-evolving era of fast fashion, exploring the practicalities of implementing change, approaches to local and international expansion and the advantages of creating a sustainable supply chain ecosystem.
During the interactive debate, participants were asked to comment on the challenges they face within their businesses. Bringing production back to the UK, the cultural impact of change and the observation that there remains a skills gap in the UK were commonly cited issues. This led to a lively discussion with practical examples being shared to illustrate how organisations manage and execute their change strategies and ultimately how the right expertise and technology can underpin successful business transformation.
Imran Ali, sales director, Lectra UK, said: “This has been a fantastic opportunity to uncover the issues that are at the core of the fashion world today. In any business, managing change effectively is vital to ensuring that companies remain competitive and consistently deliver customer value.
“Lectra is proud to be able to support businesses through the change process, both with the deep industry knowledge and the technology necessary to maintain pace with the fashion industry not only in the UK, but also on a global scale.”
In the UK, Lectra plans to hold roundtable events across 2014, which will continue to cover topics which resonate with the industry today, it said.
